Design card and concept sketch of a leather glove. This glove was designed to improve the ease with which backcountry athletes can access and use their gear. The challenge was to improve dexterity while maintaining a rugged outer. A flex zone was added to knuckles but the most significant improvements to dexterity comes from how the design limits seams in fingers. Those extra seams limit flexibility and require extra bulk especially in thick fabrics like leather. Redesigned/minimalist thumb construction and panel adjustments to outside of pointer and pinky fingers were added.
