This was one of my favorite projects at 686 and shows how much room there still is for relatively simple but impactful innovations in performance outerwear.
This piece was designed and developed by myself as an experimental design that combines the utility of a puffy vest with shell pants. Wear both pieces together as a bib or separately to control temperature, comfort, and look.
When we looked at current snowsport bibs we noted 2 major flaws. The user lost breathability in their upper body and traditional bib shoulder straps had a tendency to slide off of angled shoulders or dig into skin when the bib was weighed down. We also noticed a hesitancy among a decent percentage of consumers to purchase bibs because they didn't like the aesthetic. With the SMARTY® 3-IN-1 THERMAGRAPH® VEST BIB I'm excited to see a truly unique and relevant concept realized.
